Grand Archive is sending players back to Underland. Distorted Reflections Alter Edition releases on October 16, 2026, according to the official Grand Archive product page. If you already play, or you have been waiting for a good time to start, here is what you need to know.
What is an Alter Edition?
Grand Archive says Alter Edition is "printed to demand" so the game stays accessible. Per the official product sheet, Alter Edition boosters are continually in print based on demand.
Distorted Reflections Alter Edition is a reprint set that adds 40 unique cards, alternate art URs and brand-new CSRs. Product info from the official sheet:
- 280 unique cards and 260 foil variations in the set
- 12 randomly inserted cards per pack, 24 packs per box
- Rarity spread: 74C / 87U / 70R / 41SR / 8UR / 8CSR
- A higher CSR rate than previous Alter Edition releases
- Foils of the cards new to Alter have a higher pull rate than other foils
Already own First Edition? Look at the New-to-Alter Bundle
Grand Archive is also releasing a Distorted Reflections New-to-Alter Bundle, aimed at players who already own the First Edition (DTR 1E). Per the official sheet:
- 4 booster packs per bundle, containing only the 40 cards added in Alter Edition
- 7 cards per pack (4U / 2R / 1SR), with no foils in those packs
- A foil promo of Reckoning's Wake in each bundle
First Edition vs Alter
The original Distorted Reflections First Edition is a standard set that supports all seven classes, with a focus on Guardian and Ranger. First Edition boosters were printed in a single wave and will not be reprinted. Alter Edition is the way the set stays available after that.
Format check: no B&R changes
Grand Archive's Ban and Restricted update effective Friday, October 16, 2026 has no changes. The team says the meta is healthy and it will watch how Distorted Reflections Alter shifts things heading into Ascent Osaka (October 31 to November 1). The next B&R is on Monday, November 2, and it may be more impactful.
New to Grand Archive?
The two Distorted Reflections starter decks line up with the set's focus classes:
- Diana: Ranger, Water and Astra
- Ciel: Guardian, Fire and Umbra
Each comes with a 60-card main deck and a 12-card material deck, and has a chance at a randomly inserted CSR. Two starters make a good matchup to learn on.
